Up and coming Duluth rocker Lyla Abukhodair will discuss her songwriting style, tell some stories from her life in music and play songs from her debut solo EP on “Live From The Heart” songwriters/storytellers live stream series Tuesday, Sept. 14 on the Sacred Heart YouTube channel. KUWS music director Walt Dizzo will host.  A limited number of free studio audience tickets are available at Eventbrite.com.  Abukhodair introduced herself to the Duluth music scene as a member of the six-piece folk band NorShore Summit. Her debut solo EP “Your Mom Hates Me Now” was released in 2021 and showed off a scorching new punk rock direction.   “I decided I have so much music, I really need to do a solo thing,” she told the  2021 Homegrown Music Festival Field Guide. “I’ve always wanted to do it. I love songwriting. It’s kind of what keeps me sane.”
